HARVEST NEWS n° 3

Harvest News 2011 * n°2
This week, conditions were ideal. The beautiful weather and the freshest temperatures (7° C in the morning) allow a perfect maceration of the skins.
Much of the rosés wines is now back. During the night of Thursday to Wednesday, our Cuvée Inspire has been harvested : Tibouren, Clairette and Rolle.
This week was also the end of the Grenache’s harvest. Because of the interesting aromas, the beautiful and pale colors, we can expect a wonderful Cuvée Classique.
Team’s moral seems not feeling the tiredness and keeps excellent, with the good crops forecasts.
Harvests are revealing
The Tibouren, harvested with very cold temperatures, announce a high potential, as the quality is superb.
The Rolleare mature and augur high quality whites. They present a good aromatic level with exotic aromas and beautiful gold colors.
The sing of barrels
Sémillon and Chardonnay harvested last week are well advanced, and have a nice balance of acidity. In the cellar, the singing of barrels begins which indicates a peacefully fermentation for the Cuvée Terre de Croix Sémillon.

Harvest News 2011 * n°1
Performance and excellence always biding for innovation
Château Roubine, always biding for innovation, has recently acquired two new equipments : a high technology harvest machine, the latest model of BRAND 90600 and a new generation PERA 110 hecto/litres wine-press with integral “inertage” and “pressurage élite”
Vintages follow but are never similar
We launched the harvest on the night of August 29th to 30th with the first parcel of Semillon. FromSeptember 5th, Grenache rosé took the relay.
The beauty and wealth of the grapes, thegood maturity and acidity augurs a vintage with character.
This year, the weather has more particularly contributed to the phenomenon. After a hot and humid spring with wide temperature’s variations from one day to the other, grapes have increased in concentration during the summer with the combination between July: wet and rainy and August: dry and canicular. So many elements for a superb vintage.

The White
All white grapes’ varieties are now harvested.
In the cellar, we are going to transfer Rolles of the Cuvée Inspire in oak barrels, for a controled maturating during six months (until March or April). This maturing on fine lees will develop its richness.
The Rosé
This week was also the end of the harvests for Rosé wines. Freshness, exotic aromas and beautiful colours are the qualities of Mourvèdre, harvested for the Cuvée Terre de Croix.
On Sunday, Barbaroux and Carignan had an appointment with our new harvest machine.
The first tanks of Grenache and Cinsault, harvested last weeks are just finishing their alcoholic fermentation. Rosé wine is pale and surprising.
The Red
The first plots of Grenache, Syrah and Merlot, which composed the Red Cuvée Classique, have been harvested. We can already feel powerful red fruits aromas.
Next week, red wines for the Cuvées Inspire and Terre de Croix should reach an optimal maturity. They will be then harvested.
